Breezeway is quickly becoming the key software for STR operations in the industry. Cleaning schedules, maintenance assignment, team assignments, automation, supply volumes, etc. Full API connection with their open API would be a huge step forward for OwnerRez partners.
Breezeway integrates with an incredible amount of 3rd parties, so API sync with Breezeway would open up a lot of 3rd party connections as well. One such integration is smart locks and check-in / check-out processes. Breezeway allows for guests to click a link that is automatically sent to guests which states when they check in or check out. They also have an automation where a guest can use a special door code when they lock up for the final time which will trigger the "check out" process which includes letting management know or the cleaner know that the property is available early for cleaning. This is just one of MANY fantastic Breezeway integrations. It would open up many doors for OwnerRez clients if there was a full Breezeway API integration.

I have been wondering if there were a way to do this!! I will have to look into Breezeway. Bonus if they can get an API integration with OR!
Looking at adding more units, Breezway looks like an awesome add-on. It would help solve the "texting guests" issue.
So bummed it is not OR ready.....
We have been using Breezeway for a few months and it’s already a huge upgrade from TurnoverBnb and Properly. An API sync with OwnerRez would allow for our cleaners to get an SMS (or notification) when the property is available to clean upon guest check-out as well as the ability to send the guest a message about early check-in opportunities. It would also allow us to fully API sync with dozens of other great services. We currently use NoiseAware at all of our properties, but since there isn’t an API sync with OR, we cannot automatically message guests based on noise triggers. An API sync with Breezeway would bridge that, making it possible for us to SMS, E-mail, direct message guests based on noise triggers. That is just one of many examples. Fingers crossed for a Breezeway integration!
Hey everyone, you can already use Breezeway with OwnerRez.
Breezeway has a custom iCal thing they can use to pickup booking dates. Our custom iCal export engine allows you to customize a special iCal feed with any kind of title/body content you want to meet what they need.
There are active OwnerRez users who do this right now with Breezeway already. Reach out to them and ask them to use the iCal method.
In terms of a direct API connection, a number of our users have asked Breezeway to write an app for the OwnerRez API which they can do at any time. From our side, it's unlikely that we will write something custom for them because our open OAuth/API process is so easy to use and we have hundreds of app creators that have successfully used it. We also have a number of existing housekeeping integrations already as official parnterships. Given the custom iCal method that Breezeway already supports, and the bigger partners/plans on our current roadmap, it just isn't likely to happen right now.
However, again, Breezeway can use our OAuth/API model to write a direct connection at any time.
Thanks Paul. Sadly the iCal method is pretty lame with Breezeway. They can’t distinct between an old booking and a new booking, so if someone extends their stay there will be a new cleaning added to the end of the stay but the old cleaning from the original check out date is still there as well. Same goes for cancellations, etc. We’ve had several cleaners show up to do cleans and the guests are still at the property due to one of the aforementioned reasons. Can I pay to have an API sync done from OwnerRez’s side? It would be worth it for us at this point. We’re stuck.

Understood. It sounds like they aren't using the iCal data correctly. We provide a ton of data in the custom iCal feeds, so it should be really simple for them to detect booking changes and/or include more information in the iCal field based on what they need to see. Of course, this isn't something you can really control yourself - you need them to change their iCal parsing logic - and I completely get that.
Can I pay to have an API sync done from OwnerRez’s side?
We don't really have a process for that. It's not about the financial cost only. It's really a better integration if the third party builds to us. There's a number of reasons for that, but it makes for a better process if the housekeeping app publishes their own app and controls the information they are using from OwnerRez. Let me discuss internally and see what all I can come up with.
